Purpose:
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), in conjunction with the Amarillo Metropolitan Planning Organization, (MPO) will conduct an open house for State Loop (SL) 335, Segment C-2 from FM 1719 to Echo Street and US 87 from River Road to Cherry Avenue in Potter County. TxDOT personnel will be on site to answer questions regarding the project. Comments must be received by Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, to be part of the official record.
Description:
The proposed project consists of the following:
• Improving an existing four-lane facility along SL 335 to a four lane divided freeway facility with ramps
• One way frontage roads
• Grade separations over intersecting cross streets
• Provide bike and pedestrian accommodations along SL 335
• Enhancements to US 87 which improve the current four lane divided freeway with modified ramping patterns
• 14 foot outside shared use lane along the frontage roads
• Six foot sidewalks in each direction
The final determination of right of way needed or residential/business relocation requirements will not be known until the schematic is refined.
