Public Meetings Scheduled for Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program
ZOOM Meetings Set for Aug. 3 and Aug. 4
AMARILLO –Amarillo City Transit (ACT) has scheduled public meetings for the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program (DBE). The meetings will be conducted via ZOOM and are scheduled for Monday (Aug. 3) and Tuesday (Aug. 4) beginning at 10 a.m. Both meetings are available to the public.
ACT will review federal criteria for eligibility for the DBE program, and will seek feedback from businesses participating in and/or interested in the DBE program.
The DBE program is a federal program managed by the U. S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) to encourage socially and/or economically disadvantaged firms to participate in USDOT-funded projects. The goals of the program are to remedy past and current discrimination against DBEs, to ensure a level playing field in which DBEs can compete fairly for USDOT-assisted contracts and improve the flexibility and efficiency of the DBE program while reducing undue burdens on small businesses.
