The Texas Route 66 Festival, set for June 6-15,is of-
fering 10 days of adventure-packed events celebrating
“The Mother Road,” with classic car shows, exclusive
bus tours, a traditional cattle drive and parade, and
much more along the Texas stretch of Historic Route
66. .
Festival highlights include classic car shows featur-
ing beautifully restored vintage vehicles, bus tours ex-
ploring historic sites and hidden gems along Texas 66,
the Coors Ranch Rodeo, Cattle Drive and Parade, and
– the grand finale on June 15.
The finale, presented by Amarillo National Bank on
June 15,runs from IIa.m. to 7 p.m. in Amarillo’s Route
66 Historic District, featuring its eclectic mix of shops,
restaurants, and bars. Attendees can choose from
pop-up vendor booths, diverse cuisine in a food truck
park and various performers offering live music. Other
activities include the Miss Texas Route 66 Pinup Pag-
eant, kid-friendly activities and the Sonic TX 66 Com
Dog Eating contest, magic shows and more.
The KT Black Route 66 5K Walk/Run begins at 10
a.m. at Sixth and Georgia, followed by the Classic Car
Show at lla.m. and entertainment on the main stage. A
Community Paint by Number Mural Wallwill be set up
at The Garage, 2819SW Sixth Ave., as well as a Com-
munity Paint Car.
