Candidate Forum
The League of Women Voters will cosponsor our second televised Candidates Forum—this one on school boards—at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 18, on PBS channel 2. It will include candidates running in the May 1 election for the Amarillo College Board of Regents and the independent school district boards of Amarillo, Canyon and River Road.
Leeann Overstreet, public information officer for the Randall County Sheriff’s Department, will moderate the regents’ forum, and Jill Gibson, chair of Amarillo College Mass Communications, will serve as moderator for the school board races. The forum will last approximately 90 minutes, said Linda Vaughn, League forums chair.
Early voting begins April 19 and runs weekdays through April 27.
