Center City and the Amarillo Community Market will offer a special Harvest Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10 at the Santa Fe Depot, 401 S. Grant St. (just east of the Civic Center).

This is a special market with live entertainment, children’s activities, prizes, food trucks and plenty of vendors. Harvest Market is open to our 2020 member/vendors. We are also seeking new vendors who create, grow, bake or make what they sell.

To apply for Harvest Market, go to amarillocommunitymarket.com and click on the Vendor tab. Deadline to apply for Harvest Market is Oct. 1 for new vendors.

We have received some funding to cover the charges for trips to go to vote. People over 65 OR those on disability will have their trip paid under the GAP program.
Early voting is from Tuesday October 13th to Friday October 30th. Our eligible hours are 3pm to 6pm. On Election Day November 3rd, we can cover the whole day.

Hispanic Heritage Luncheon

Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes and celebrates the contributions Americans tracing their roots to Spain, Mexico, Central America, South American and the Spanish-speaking nations of the Caribbean have made to American society and culture. Los Barrios de Amarillo has organized a virtual event which will honor Hispanic leaders and bring awareness of the contributions made by those leaders to our community. Please join us on Wednesday, October 14th at 11 a.m. via Facebook Live at https://www.facebook.com/losbarriosamarillo or https://www.facebook.com/AMAHHL and help us celebrate the following 2020 winners of the Hispanic Heritage Virtual Luncheon!

Young Rising Star – A person that has demonstrated leadership ability in their school, church and/or family and has exhibited strong leadership skills in the Hispanic community.
Lifetime Heart of the Barrio – A person who has strong, consistent volunteerism in the Amarillo Hispanic community and has been dedicated to serving the Hispanic Community.
Business Community Service – A business that has provided strong monetary support or encouraged community volunteerism.
Hispanic Woman of the Year – A woman who has distinguished herself in an organization, her profession, and her community.
Hispanic Man of the Year – A man who has distinguished himself in an organization, his profession, and his community.
