United Express & Market Street Express fuel stations kick off statewide donate-at-the-register campaign for Special Olympics

LUBBOCK, Texas — On Sunday, United Express and Market Street Express fuel stations will kick off a statewide donate-at-the-register fundraising campaign for Special Olympics, from May 25 through June 7.

As with past donate-at-the-register campaigns, guests of United Express and Market Street Express will be able to add any dollar amount to their bill at the register. All funds going to benefit the Special Olympics organization in their local area.

Special Olympics has a mission of providing year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in sharing gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other athletes and the community.

“We are excited to launch this fundraising campaign for the Special Olympics across our markets,” said Angelos Lambis, director of fuel and convenience for The United Family. “This organization makes a positive impact across our communities for so many people. During this campaign, guests can support the cause by simply adding a few extra dollars at checkout when purchasing their favorite coffee or fountain drink at any United Family convenience store.”

NATIONAL REPEAT DAY

National Repeat Day happens each year on June 3. For some, this day is an opportunity. For others, it’s a bad omen. Repeating a foot massage or a day with a dear friend would make this holiday special. Repeating a root canal or a natural disaster are not suggested for this day. Learn more…

NATIONAL HUG YOUR CAT DAY

When National Hug Your Cat Day rolls around each year on June 4, the purr-fect opportunity presents itself for some snuggle time. Depending on your feline critter’s nature, hugging may not be in the cards. However, like most animals, touch is a vital part of communication – and the same goes for the claw-ful kind

NATIONAL OLD MAID’S DAY

National Old Maid’s Day falls on June 4 to recognize the women who never marry and remain childless. While the term may not seem to be flattering, we still think it’s important to celebrate Old Maids everywhere and their honor their contributions to their families and communities
