SPEAK UP FOR SERVICE DAY
Speak Up For Service Day on October 30th recognizes the importance of young people to be actively involved in community service. Too often, the good deeds of young people go unnoticed by their communities. Speak Up For Service Day gives recognition to the overlooked. It serves as a reminder to tell others about the contributions of young people to their communities.
Is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.
Amarillo Hi-Plains Kiwanis Club members have served in Amarillo since 1971 and continue to work to improve our community through service, mentorship, and volunteerism with our area non-profit organizations. We are always looking for civic-minded people to help us make Amarillo a better place for all of us. Calling young artists and inventors! Immerse yourself in the mind of Leonardo da Vinci– building, sketching, testing, and designing, just like the “Renaissance Man” himself. Hands-on activity tables explore his contributions to art, science, anatomy and engineering. Will you recreate da Vinci’s work, or add an exciting twist that’s all your own?
Included with membership or general admission.
Leonardo’s Lab, a traveling exhibit, was developed by Carnegie Science Center (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and produced in partnership with the Sciencecenter (Ithaca, New York).
