This year’s featured towns:
For 2026, NewsChannel 10 will focus on: Portales, Panhandle, Canyon, and Claude.
What viewers can expect:
Each day, NewsChannel 10’s 6:00 p.m. newscast will transition into Summer Celebration coverage around 6:20–6:30 p.m. From that point forward, the broadcast will be dedicated to the town of the day, with content focused entirely on that community.
Week-at-a-glance schedule:
- Monday: Summer Celebration LIVE in Portales on the ENMU campus
- Tuesday: Summer Celebration focus on Panhandle
- Wednesday: Summer Celebration LIVE in Canyon on the WTAMU campus
- Thursday: Summer Celebration focus on Claude
What’s included each day:
Each town spotlight will include features such as:
- Economic drivers and local industry
- History and community identity
- Good News with Doppler Dave Oliver
- Ruben on the Road feature
- Live interviews, community voices, and more
LIVE event details:
The LIVE events are hosted by the local universities and City leaders and will include food trucks, non-profits, community leaders, and more onsite. Residents are invited to come out, join the celebration, and be part of the live broadcast—NewsChannel 10 would love to meet the community and share those faces and stories with the rest of the viewing area.
Why NewsChannel 10 does this:
NewsChannel 10 is committed to serving the entire viewing area. Too often, rural coverage can be limited to tough news events or sports. Summer Celebration is an intentional break in the cycle—a chance to showcase the good things happening in rural communities and the meaningful stories that deserve attention.
Who will be there:
Lindsey Stiner, Doppler Dave Oliver, Shelden Brashears, Zack Woodard, and the NewsChannel 10 team will be on site for the LIVE events.
“We look forward to carrying on a 25+ year tradition and telling our area stories and Celebrating Summer with everyone.”

21+ Summer Flicks: Labyrinth
This musical fantasy film, directed by Jim Henson, is a classic for adults looking to kick back without the kdis in DHDC’s one-of-a-kind Space Theater! Watch Labyrinth (1986) with David Bowie and reminisce on singing goblins and impressive puppetry in a 21+ only atmosphere.
Tickets grant access for one 21+ individual to the adults-only Labyrinth screening. Purchase the ticket + concession wristband bundle for unlimited popcorn and themed drinks to accompany the show!
The movie starts at 7:30, doors open 30 minutes before. Seats are limited – our theater can only seat 90 people! Purchase your tickets here.
Guests must be 21 or older for this screening. Valid ID required at check-in. To learn more about the family-friendly screening of Labyrinth, click here.
Please Note
While the screening will be in our Space Theater, it will not be a dome-style movie, as that would ruin the quality of the show. We have worked to make sure that the quality, size of display, and sound will be sure to make you “move the stars!”
YOU MUST have the all-you-can-eat/drink wristband to enjoy our specialty drinks. Drinks will not be for individual sale.
