Calling young artists and inventors! Immerse yourself in the mind of Leonardo da Vinci– building, sketching, testing, and designing, just like the “Renaissance Man” himself. Hands-on activity tables explore his contributions to art, science, anatomy and engineering. Will you recreate da Vinci’s work, or add an exciting twist that’s all your own?
Included with membership or general admission.
Leonardo’s Lab, a traveling exhibit, was developed by Carnegie Science Center (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) and produced in partnership with the Sciencecenter (Ithaca, New York).

With acrylics, the world is your canvas. Learn how to express yourself using the vibrant colors of this delightful paint. Discover how to use the basic techniques of acrylic painting: blending, texturizing, brush strokes, detailing, stippling, and glazing. Paint not just on traditional surfaces but alsoon leather, clothing, and more. Your imagination sets the limits!
Basic supplies: Bring what you have to start but include the following.
Paint:
I recommend Golden or Liquitex brands. Choose a variety of colors you like but include; white, black, ultramarine blue, red, yellow and burnt umber. You can always purchase additional colors.
Brushes:
Any brand will work but you will need bristle brushes which are a
stiffer brush. You will need a large flat brush, medium to small flat
brushes, a small detail brush and a liner brush. I see packets of
brushes at Hobby Lobby or Micheals that include all of these if you
want to start with a kit.
