Amarillo Public Library’s annual Books to Broadway event—a concert of songs from Broadway musicals based on or inspired by books—is going backstage this year!
The free musical review is produced by the WTAMU School of Music and hosted by Friends of the Amarillo Public Library. This year’s theme is Backstage on Broadway: Plays within Plays, so the audience can expect to hear numbers from shows about theatre, like Phantom of the Opera, The King and I, and Cabaret.
Books to Broadway is first and foremost a gift to the community and a reminder of the importance of reading. Theater-style seating is available at no charge. Premium seating tickets—which include 2 drink coupons—are available for $25 each, and sponsorship opportunities are also available.
The concert takes place Tuesday, October 20 in the Amarillo Civic Center Heritage Room. Doors open at 6 PM with a silent auction and complimentary dessert bar, and the show starts at 7 PM.
For more information or to reserve premium tickets, please contact Stacy Clopton at 806-378-3051 or by email at Stacy.Clopton@amarillolibrary.org.
