Coffee and Cuties is for explorers ages 5 and under with their caregiver.

Our Education Team offers science-based entertainment for the tots and gives caregivers the opportunity to sit back and relax with Roasters Coffee! A different theme every month makes this program’s storytime and activity exciting for your little learners each visit. 2026 themes:

    Coffee and Cuties is on the first Friday of each month, with three time slots to attend based on your schedule. Join us at 9:45 am, 10:45 am, or 11:45 am.

    This program is included with admission or Discovery Center Collective membership.

Dinosaurs in Motion @ Dinosaurs in Motion

Join us for the public grand opening of Dinosaurs in Motion, produced by Imagine Exhibitions, THIS SUNDAY with members-only experiences!

DCC members will receive a wristband at check-in that gives them exclusive access to scheduled science demonstrations in our East Auditorium and the Pink Floyd Laser Light show, with unlimited refills on popcorn, so you and your family can enjoy a nostalgic favorite in honor of DHDC’s 50th anniversary.

Members-only Science Demonstrations are scheduled for 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, and 3:30 pm. Pink Floyd Laser Light Shows will begin at 1:00 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 4:00 pm.

2026 Cinco de Mayo Fajita Festival

AMARILLO,TX (May 1, 2026) – The Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Cinco de Mayo Fajita Festival celebration at Hodgetwon.

This year, the event will feature organizations and groups competing for the honor of calling themselves the “Fajita King of Amarillo.” Attendees can expect a celebration of Hispanic culture with fajita tacos, folklorico performances, and live music by popular groups, Conjunto Relincho and Los Hermanos Mendoza.

Tickets are now on sale at Sodpoodles.com.

SOUTHWEST AMBUCS OPENS TABLE SALES FOR ANNUAL DERBY DAY AT AMARILLO BOTANICAL GARDENS

  Amarillo, TX || Southwest AMBUCS is proud to announce that table sales are now open for its annual Derby Day event, set for Saturday, May 2nd at the Amarillo Botanical Gardens.
One of Amarillo’s most anticipated spring fundraisers, Derby Day brings the excitement and elegance of the Kentucky Derby to the Texas Panhandle. Guests will enjoy an afternoon of southern-inspired fun, including a live viewing of the race, themed food and drinks, entertainment, and signature Derby-style fashion.
This year’s event will feature reserved table seating only, encouraging groups, businesses, and friends to come together for a shared experience while supporting a meaningful cause.
Proceeds from Derby Day support Southwest AMBUCS’ work in the Amarillo community, including providing Amtryke therapeutic tricycles, building accessible parks and playgrounds, and funding scholarships for students pursuing careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and audiology.

“Derby Day is one of our favorite events of the year because it brings the community together in such a fun and impactful way,” says Landon Brantley, club president. “Every table purchased helps us change lives right here in Amarillo.”
