Roasters and Storybridge Invite Amarillo to “Give Like Dolly” on September 25 (“Nine Two Five”)

AMARILLO, Texas — September 18, 2026 — This September 25, Roasters Coffee, and Storybridge are inviting the Amarillo community to celebrate Dolly Parton in a way that feels especially fitting: by helping put books into the hands of children.
The day is part of Give Like Dolly Day, a new annual tradition announced by The Dollywood Foundation to honor Dolly’s lifelong commitment to children and to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The national effort encourages people to support the local organizations that make Imagination Library possible in their own communities.
Locally, Roasters is giving $925 to Storybridge’s Imagination Library program in Amarillo and encouraging customers to join them in giving on 9/25. All Roasters locations will also have a special “Pour Yourself a Cup of Ambition” sticker available that day.
“Dolly Parton made everyone smile, and that’s something we try to do here, too—one cup at a time,” said David Cooper, owner of Roasters Coffee. “We’ve got a fun day planned at every Roasters location to honor Dolly, help put books in the hands of local kids, and hopefully make a few more people smile along the way. We hope everyone will come see us on September 25 and be part of it.”
Storybridge is the local Imagination Library partner serving children in Potter, Randall, Ochiltree, Armstrong, Hutchinson and Donley counties. Through the program, enrolled children from birth to age five receive a free, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home each month. Local partners like Storybridge raise awareness and help provide the funding that makes those monthly books possible.
“Dolly had a way of making generosity feel joyful, and we feel that joyful anticipation leading up to September 25” said Chandra Perkins, Executive Director of Storybridge. “We are incredibly grateful for Roasters’ $925 gift and all the joy they are bringing to the day. Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle is excited to share that the People of Hope Traveling Museum will be visiting Amarillo from Friday September 25th 12pm-7pm through Saturday September 26th 9am-3pm! Visitors will get to experience interactive simulations that help visitors understand the challenges many families living in poverty face. Come out and learn more about what our charity does to serve the community!

This event will recognize the first anniversary of the Amarillo Police Department’s Impaired Driving Unit and mark 10 years since Amarillo Police Officer Justin Scherlen was killed by an impaired driver.
There is a powerful full-circle connection in recognizing that 10 years after Officer Scherlen’s death, the department he faithfully served now has a dedicated unit working to prevent impaired driving and protect other families from experiencing the same devastating loss.
Andrea’s Project will also share information about its new TxDOT-funded prevention work and launch a community storytelling initiative inviting individuals and families impacted by impaired driving to share their experiences. Through these stories, we hope to illustrate the lasting ripple effect impaired driving has on families and communities while strengthening prevention efforts across the Texas Panhandle.
