April 21, 2026

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The League of Women Voters of Amarillo to Host Discussion about Local Water Supply — Saturday Morning

Join Amarillo’s local, nonpartisan voting advocacy group, the League of Women Voters of Amarillo, for a lively discussion about one of the most important resources we have: WATER. Everyone in our community is invited to get together at the Amarillo Area Foundation (919 S. Polk St.) at 9:30 AM for breakfast and fellowship; the presentation begins at 10 AM.

Thanks to Britney Britten, the General Manager of our Panhandle Groundwater Conservation District, for sharing her knowledge and insight on this important topic that impacts every resident in the Yellow City. Bring snacks to share, and have some questions ready for our speaker!

We’re grateful for everyone willing to join us for this delightful monthly gathering; all are welcome, as we look forward to welcoming new faces into our membership. This is a HUGE election year, and the League is excited to empower local residents to get informed, work the polls, register voters, and connect with local communities so they’re ready and willing to participate in our democracy!

For more information, please contact Jenny Inzerillo, LWV of Amarillo’s Publicity Chair, at jennyinzerillo@gmail.com.

Good morning, community from the Potter County Sheriff’s Office.

Just a shout out to say hello and a reminder to you all:

We are hosting our Medication Take Back Day on April the 25th, we once again are partnering with Walmart on Tascosa Road.

We will be there from 10am till 2pm. If you have old medications, you need to get rid of please bring them out and drop them in the box. No questions asked except a big thank you from the Deputy working the site.

If you have one bottle or a sack full bring it out. Let’s get it out of your places so it is not a temptation for littles to get into.

Also, be aware that we have a box at the Jail in the reception that is for the same thing. Just walk in dump the stuff in the box in the lobby, again no questions what it is just get rid of it. The lobby in reception is open 24/7.
