is hosting its Discovery Day Camp: Spring Break (themed “Dino Detectives”) in Amarillo, TX, starting Monday, March 16, 2026. The camp runs through March 20, with each day focusing on a different STEAM pathway
- Theme: Dino Detectives, where campers investigate dinosaurs through hands-on lessons and STEAM activities.
- Ages: Children 4 to 11 years old.
- Schedule: Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, 2026.
- Full Day: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Must be 5+ years old).
- Half Day AM: 9:00 AM – 12:30 PM.
- Half Day PM: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM.
- Location: Don Harrington Discovery Center, 1200 Streit Dr, Amarillo, TX 79106.

- Full Day: $50 (Members) / $55 (Non-Members).
- Half Day: $25 (Members) / $30 (Non-Members).
- Extended Care: Pre-care and after-care are available for $10 each.

Join us at the Don Harrington Discovery Center every Wednesday at 10:30 am for a special storytime ~ featuring a very special trunk of wonders! Our weekly storytime will be located in a new and exciting spot in the Discovery Center for your littles to discover during your visit. Start your morning with a story and spend the rest of the day exploring our amazing exhibits! This program is included with admission or a Discovery Center Collective membership.

Cultural Currency: Contemporary Art from the Riemer Collection presents the innovative ways artists use money as a conceptual idea and medium to explore notions of value and worth beyond declared denominations.
For centuries, the constant exchange of money for goods and services has been core to our daily lives. We rely on monetary transactions, a quintessential human act, to meet our needs and desires – from luxury purchases to essential items like food and shelter. Given this worldwide phenomenon, consumers rarely consider the aesthetic qualities of currency, which range in various colors and sizes, and designed by artists. As artist Ray Beldner aptly points out, U.S. currency is “the world’s biggest ongoing print edition. Every bill is unique, and it’s numbered uniquely. It’s signed by the person that caused it to be made, the Secretary of the Treasury. It’s made from archival materials. It’s 100 percent cotton. Can’t join us during the week? Come on Friday March 20th, 10:00AM to 2:00PM where all the activities will be available—plus additional activities, a special guest and a real life horse!
No payment due until arrival—registration is required with limited spots available for daily activities (March 17th – March 19th).
