DHDC Invites YOU to Discover Science and Sci-Fi for May the Fourth!
Amarillo, TX – The Don Harrington Discovery Center is hosting “May the Fourth Be With You,” an event celebrating science through a love of sci-fi. DHDC will turn into a rebel base from a galaxy far far away and ask guests to “join the Jedi” as they teach a new generation the science behind defeating the dark side!
With two time slots, 1:00 pm and 3:30 pm, DHDC will explore science with demos, activities, and lots more! Guests will enjoy lightyears of fun featuring:
- Food trucks outside their rebel base
- Space theater shows exploring galaxies far far away
- DHDC’s spectacular science demos
- Activities to take home exploring science and sci-fi
- A chance to see alien-like creatures
- A sci-fi costume contest with prizes for first through third place
Admission for this event is $5 per person for members and $8 for non-members.

The Don Harrington Discovery Center is a hands-on science center that makes science exciting, relevant, and interesting to all types of learners by providing interactive exhibits and programs that actively engage children, adolescents, and their families.

The show will open with a 5 to 7 p.m.

The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum proudly announces that its next gala, Dining with Giants, a dinosaur themed affair, from 6 to 11 p.m. May 4. Seating is limited.
Guests will enter a Pioneer Hall transported back in time when giant dinosaurs roamed the earth and enjoy themed hors d’oeuvre and cocktails, silent auction items and more before the dinner begins.
Back this year, a fully engaging experience awaits the highest VIP levels in our Paleontology gallery with a special bar, themed hors d’oeuvres and exquisite service. This space will be limited.
Dinner will be served in the PPHM Derrick Room, where guests will enjoy a four-course meal “dining with giants.” A live auction will be followed by dancing and drinks in the transformed Pioneer Hall.
