AMARILLO – In anticipation of the expected winter weather this week in our northwest and western counties, the Dallam, Hartley, Moore, Oldham and Sherman County maintenance sections will be out spraying brine on the roadways today to prevent them from freezing.
Brine is a salt and water solution that acts as an anti-icing agent on our roadways.
We’re asking drivers to please give our crews at least 200 feet of space to operate and don’t crowd the plow! They’re working to keep the roads as safe as possible for the traveling public.
The public can stay up to date on current road conditions by visiting drivetexas.org or by phone at (800) 452-9292.
