CHARACTERS TO HODGETOWN FOR THE 3RD YEAR OF STORYBRIDGE LIVE!

Region 16 Education Service Center | Head Start Program presents Storybridge LIVE
2023! This is the 4th year Storybridge has held this fundraiser event designed to excite and
inspire children 2-8 years old and create memories families will treasure for years. Kids have the
opportunity to meet 12 famous book characters face to face, collect their “autographs” on a
souvenir card, watch theatrical adaptations of classic fairy tales, and more.

Cherished favorites like Curious George and Clifford will thrill the child inside all of us, while
new friends like Pigeon from Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and Dinosaur from the How Do
Dinosaurs series will spark a curiosity that will have our children reaching for new books. Other
characters who made the long journey to Amarillo – Llama Llama, Rainbow Fish, Give a Mouse
a Cookie, Dragons Love Tacos, Elephant and Piggie, Biscuit, Esteban (from The Day the
Crayons Quit), and Pete the Cat. Some of the characters will be giving away their own swag
items while supplies last, so try to arrive early!
In addition to meeting all the celebrity book characters, visitors to Storybridge LIVE can also:
- Visit the talented face painters and balloon artists along the concourse path
- Bring your autograph card to the New Book Store to choose a free book
- Come dressed as your favorite character
- Say Hi to Ruckus at the Region 16 | Presenting Sponsor table
- Enjoy live adaptations of classic fairy tales at Fairy Tale Theater on the lawn
- Check out the Storybridge Book Trailer
- Take a coloring break and hear a story read aloud in the Relax Room
- Climb, jump, or run for a few minutes in the Fun Zone!
Tickets to the event are only $5 per person (all ages) for General Admission and available online
at storybridgeama.org. A limited number of Early Access Tickets are now on sale for $10 per
person. The Early Access ticket will allow holders entry into the event starting at 9 am. Tickets
are also available for purchase at the gate using cash or credit card.
All the proceeds of Storybridge LIVE will be used to support another year of Storybridge
programs to increase literacy and book ownership for local children. The mission of Storybridge
is to ensure that every child in Amarillo owns at least 20 high-quality books at home from
birth through 5th grade, enters Kindergarten ready to learn to read, and unlocks all the
