Shakespeare in the Canyon
THE BEAUTIFUL PIONEER AMPHITHEATER…carved out of and nestled into a natural basin in the majestic Palo Duro Canyon sets a beautiful stage to hear the work of William Shakespeare, one of the greatest playwrights of all time.
OUR SHOW FEATURE this year will be Much Ado About Nothing for 4 special performances in July (7, 14, 21, 28). Much Ado About Nothing performances begin at 8:00pm.
Much Ado About Nothing – Much Ado About Nothing is a comedy by William Shakespeare about two pairs of lovers in Messina: the young, honorable Claudio and Hero, and the witty, bickering Benedick and Beatrice, who are tricked into falling in love. The plot involves a villainous plot to disgrace Hero, leading to her faked death, and a comedic subplot where the confirmed bachelor Benedick and the confirmed spinster Beatrice are tricked into admitting their love for each other, all while the bumbling constable Dogberry uncovers the truth.
