COMPETITIVE START: 9 AM / NON-COMPETITIVE 5K & 1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK START: 10 AM
In person registration available for non-competitive & 1-mile categories only: Friday, Sept 27, 2 -6pm, 500 S. Taylor, ANB Plaza II, 2nd Floor conference room, and on-site Saturday morning before the race.
OUR COLORS RUN TOGETHER is an event put on by the Harrington Cancer and Health Foundation to celebrate, remember, and honor all those affected by a cancer diagnosis. This event includes a competitive and non-competitive 5k and 1 mile fun run/walk, with a special CANCER SURVIVOR area and activities. This is a family-friendly event with music and a kid’s area.
Proceeds from this event go to the following areas:
PATIENT ASSISTANCE:
- Financial assistance for cancer patients in active treatment with expenses such as mortgage/rent, utilities, travel, and insurance premiums.
- Free transportation through ChemoCars partnership.
PREVENTION
- FREE PSA BLOOD TEST offered yearly in September following the annual Friends of Fogelberg concert benefiting the fight against prostate cancer.
- SPF806 provides FREE sunscreen for visitors to Palo Duro Canyon State Park and Amarillo City pools and parks, as well as SunSmart America Curriculum to 55 AISD schools, grade K-8.
- TOBACCO FREE AMARILLO provides a comprehensive tobacco control program aimed at preventing youth from using tobacco and encouraging adults to quit.
- MAMMOGRAPHY ASSISTANCE for local women who cannot otherwise afford a mammography screening.
SURVIVORSHIP
- Survivorship plan & treatment summary provided by an oncology certified nurse, Prostate Cancer Nurse Navigator, 60+ Group Classes, Counseling Services provided by Licensed Professional Counselors, Wig Room, and other activities such as water exercise, oncology massage, book club, & more.
All resources are FREE for cancer survivors.
