NAMI Texas Panhandle is holding a free NAMI Family & Friends Seminar on Saturday, March 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lowndes Hall, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1601 S. Georgia St., Amarillo. NAMI Family & Friends is a free 4-hour seminar that informs and supports family members, significant others, and friends who have loved ones with a mental health condition. Participants learn about mental health diagnoses, treatment options, recovery, communication strategies, crisis preparation, and community resources. This 4-hour seminar will be led by certified, experienced teachers of NAMI Family-to-Family. Seminar leaders are also family members and know what it’s like to have a loved one with a mental health condition.
Participants will receive a free manual that they can keep, and refreshments will be served. This seminar will be held in Lowndes Hall, just south of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church. Participants should enter where they see the NAMI flag.
