The Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo is proud to announce a special evening of community, youth

leadership, and giving back. In partnership with 575 Pizzeria, the Club will host its annual Junior Youth

of the Year Speech Competition on Wednesday, September 17th, at 5:00 p.m. at 2803 Civic Circle,

Amarillo, TX.

The Junior Youth of the Year competition is a cornerstone program of the Boys & Girls Club, giving 4th–

6th grade members the opportunity to build confidence, develop public speaking skills, and share their

stories of growth and leadership. A panel of respected community celebrities:

  • Edwin Criado- Duke Electric
  • Tim Reid- Amarillo City Council
  • Constable Idella Jackson
  • DJ Stubben- Welcome Pardner
  • Melodie Graves- Amarillo College
  • Lynn Clark- Community Volunteer

will help select the winner, who will go on to represent the Maverick Club in Lubbock on Saturday,

September 20th.

Following the competition, families, supporters, and community members are invited to dine at 575

Pizzeria, where a portion of the evening’s proceeds will directly benefit the Maverick Boys & Girls Club.

This partnership offers a fun and delicious way for the community to invest in local youth while enjoying

one of Amarillo’s favorite dining spots.

By joining the Maverick Boys & Girls Club and 575 Pizzeria on September 17th, supporters can make a

lasting difference in the lives of Amarillo youth while celebrating the incredible potential of the next

generation of leaders.

Members and volunteers are available for interviews.
