HANDY GAL 101 WORKSHOP
Free Basic Home Maintenance and Safety Workshop for Women
The Lucille and Leo Caiafa, Jr. Center for Advancement is proud to announce a partnership with the Amarillo Fire Department (AFD) and Cadre Fuller Construction to host a Handy Gal 101 Workshop. This free, hands-on event will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 2308 SW 7th St.
Designed to foster safety and self-sufficiency, the workshop invites women of all ages—and their teenage daughters—to gain essential home maintenance skills. The
afternoon kicks off with the AFD providing critical fire safety training and live demonstrations on proper fire extinguisher use. Following the safety session, industry experts will lead interactive stations covering:
- Home Systems: Basic plumbing and HVAC maintenance.
- Electrical: Safety tips
- Weatherization: Preparing your home for the elements.
- The Toolbox: Identifying and using the right tools for every job.
“We want to equip the women in our community with the confidence to manage their homes safely,” said Kim Lester, Resource Coordinator “This workshop is about more
than just repairs; it’s about independence.”
In addition to invaluable skills, every participant will receive a free gift. The event will also feature door prizes and refreshments for all attendees.
Registration is required by April 8. To secure a spot, participants can call 806-358-7803, email cfa@sharinghopeministry.org, or register online at https://form.jotform.com/231495669649172
