Free family-friendly event celebrates recovery, connects residents to hope, resources, and community

Amarillo, Texas — (August 22, 2025) — The 2nd Annual Big Texas Rally for Recovery – Panhandle Edition will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 2:00–5:30 p.m. at Southwest Church of Christ (4515 Cornell St., Amarillo, TX 79109). The free, family-friendly rally will bring together individuals in recovery, families, service providers, and community leaders to celebrate recovery and connect residents with practical resources.

The event is a collaboration of multiple community partners, with Andrea’s Project serving as the fiduciary agent.

The rally will feature interactive activities, a resource fair, door prizes, and free dinner, plus inspiring speakers and stories of hope from across the Panhandle.

“Recovery is real, it’s possible, and it’s happening every day in our community,” said Dr. Shanna James, Executive Director of Andrea’s Project. “This rally lifts up the voices of people in recovery, honors families, and makes it easier for anyone to find support—no matter where they are on their journey.”

“This is more than an event; it’s a movement,” said Seth Trujillo with Cenikor. “By coming together as service providers, families, and neighbors, we are showing that recovery thrives in connection. We want every person who attends to leave with hope, encouragement, and a clear pathway to resources.”
