What: Free Financial Literacy Education Class
When: Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: East Branch Library, 2232 SE 27th Avenue, Amarillo, TX
Why: One of the strategies of the Barrio neighborhood plan is to educate our families about how to use and save their money wisely. In order to encourage financial literacy and to help celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Barrio Neighborhood Planning Committee (BNPC) will co-host a free financial literacy education class, in English and Spanish, with Mr. Colten Hibbs and other Education Credit Union team members. This class will be held at the East Branch Library meeting room in Amarillo, Texas at 6:00 p.m.

We invite all adults to participate in this free class and you are welcome to bring your children. A Spanish interpreter and materials in Spanish will be available.
Free bottled water, a free dinner, and door prizes will be provided by the Education Credit Union.
The Barrio Neighborhood Planning Committee, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, was established in March 2017 in coordination with the City of Amarillo with a mission of preserving and revitalizing El Barrio neighborhood.
