What does El Dia de Los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) mean to you? It is a celebration of faith and family, sponsored by the St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church members, who are sharing this exciting Hispanic event for the second year with our city residents in their church sanctuary and Parish Hall on November 2.
Please dress up and bring your family to enjoy a brief service and history of this event, in English and Spanish, view our colorful ofrendas and dioramas to honor our loved ones who have passed, watch the Glenwood Elementary School Ballet folklorico dancers perform in their authentic costumes, listen to mariachi music, have your face painted, and drink bottled water and eat free walking nachos and authentic Mexican wedding cookies.
Donations are accepted and the proceeds, from this event, will benefit La Plazita Park, at 918 South Houston Street, which the BNPC owns. This public park will include seating, a stage for performances and events, free WIFI, two monuments to recognize our generous sponsors, brick pavers, a bike rack, four pole lights, a place for food trucks to and other vendors to sell their products, and turf.
