FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: America Adame Wesley Community Center806.372.7960america@wesleyamarillo.org AREA ORGANIZATIONS TO HOST BARRIO SAFETY FAIR PROMOTING WINTER SAFETY Amarillo, TX — November 18, 2025 —Area agencies and organizations are proud to come together to host the inaugural Barrio Safety Fair, a family-friendly event dedicated to promoting safety, wellness, and community connection within Amarillo’s Barrio neighborhood and beyond. Taking place Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at The Wesley Community Center at 1615 S. Roberts Street, the event will bring together community health and safety leaders who will share valuable information, resources, and tools with residents to help foster a safer, healthier Amarillo. “We believe safety begins with community,” said America Adame, an organizer of the event and Executive Director of The Wesley Community Center. “That’s why we’re excited to bring together organizations and individuals who genuinely care about improving the wellbeing of our neighborhood. ”The Safety Fair will feature informative booths, free take-home winter clothing and items, and opportunities to connect directly with local safety and wellness providers. A free meal and snacks will be provided to all attendees, and local vendors are encouraged to participate — interested vendors can sign up by scanning the QR code provided on event materials. The event is proudly sponsored by organizations committed to uplifting the community’s health and safety, including The Wesley Center, Amarillo Fire Department, Barrio Neighborhood Planning Committee, Panhandle Plains Chapter of The American Red Cross, Power Church, Atmos Energy, Amarillo Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Window on a Wider World, Amarillo National Bank, Raise Your Hand Texas, Education Credit Union.
