We need your help with an upcoming event at the Lucille and Leo Caiafa Jr. Center for Advancement!
We will be hosting Powderpuff Mechanics on Saturday, July 27th from 9-11 am. This event will help women in our community learn basic car safety and maintenance. We will begin the morning with a main presentation discussing basics such as checking fluid levels and tire pressure, how to jump start a battery, where to find fuses and what the warning lights mean on the dashboard, etc. Afterwards we will break out into groups of 5 or 6 women taking them out to look at actual vehicles for hands-on experience. We need 8-10 volunteers that can lead a group showing them how to check the oil, tire pressure, etc. You don’t have to be an expert, just knowledgeable about the basics. We also need newer and older model cars we can use to demonstrate the maintenance.
