Pray the City is excited to host our city’s first Amarillo Day of Prayer! We invite you to join us on Thursday February 29 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at the Civic Center Grand Plaza. We are reaching out to churches and businesses in our community who share our passion for glorifying God and building unity in Amarillo.
What is Pray the City?
Pray the City’s mission is to gather Christ followers to regularly pray and provide spiritual care to our community. We have a vision for Amarillo to be a spiritual community praying in faith and walking out God’s will, while being a model for other cities.
Day of Prayer Promotion
We are asking for your help in promoting Amarillo Day of Prayer. The evening will be similar to past National Day of Prayer celebrations; however this year, the gathering will be personal and focused on our own community. The event will begin with a time of worship from Hillside Christian Church and the program will center on four aspects of prayer-Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication. These significant areas will be scripture based and prayed for by leaders representing different areas of our city. Each segment of prayer will also allow time for attendees to gather in groups and pray for these key areas. Our theme this year is ONE God, City, Family. …So that with ONE mind and ONE voice we glorify God. Romans 15:6.
Day of Prayer Donations
We are also in need of additional funds if you would like to donate. Your generous gift would help with the facility rental, sound equipment, printing and advertising costs. In return for your support, we offer visibility through our event presentation and brochure. Information to donate is online at www.praythecity.org/donate.
Feel free to reach out to Pray the City to discuss this further or schedule a meeting. You can also visit our website at www.praythecity.org to learn more about us. We truly value the support of churches and businesses like yours and look forward to the possibility of working together to ensure our first Amarillo Day of Prayer glorifies God by building unity. So that with ONE mind and ONE voice we glorify God. – Romans 15:6
