Sheriff’s Stockyard Showdown Event Announcement
Sep 18 @ 7:00 pm

Sheriff’s Stockyard Showdown Ranch Rodeo to Debut at the 2026 Tri-State Fair

The Potter County Law Enforcement Association (PCLEA) and the Randall County Sheriff’s Association (RCSA), in partnership with the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo, is proud to announce the inaugural Sheriff’s Stockyard Showdown Ranch Rodeo, taking place on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Amarillo National Center during the Tri-State Fair.

The Sheriff’s Stockyard Showdown brings together the Texas Panhandle community and local law enforcement for an evening celebrating western heritage, teamwork, and community while raising funds to support the missions of the Potter County Law Enforcement Association and the Randall County Sheriff’s Association.

The Potter County Law Enforcement Association and the Randall County Sheriff’s Association are nonprofit organizations dedicated to supporting the men and women of their respective sheriff’s offices through member assistance, professional development, community engagement, charitable initiatives, and advocacy for the law enforcement profession.

The competition will feature teams from across the Texas Panhandle, along with a special team representing local law enforcement officers. Contestants will compete in four traditional ranch rodeo events that showcase the skills, grit, and teamwork that define ranch life in our region. There will also be special law enforcement vs. fire events interspersed between these events competing for a coveted inter-disciplinary trophy.

As this is the inaugural event, participation has been limited to 15 teams to ensure a quality experience for competitors and spectators alike. We are excited to share that 10 teams have already committed, and we continue to welcome additional teams to participate.

Tickets are $22 per person and include admission to both the Sheriff’s Stockyard Showdown and the Tri-State Fair. Tickets go on sale Friday, July 31, 2026, and may be purchased online through the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo website at www.tristatefair.com or at the Tri-State Fair admission gates the day of the event.

The event is made possible through the partnership of PCLEA, RCSA, the Tri-State Fair & Rodeo, and numerous community sponsors. Every aspect of the event is being organized and staffed by volunteers from the Potter County Sheriff’s Office and Randall County Sheriff’s Office, reflecting the commitment of local law enforcement professionals to serving the community both on and off duty.
