Amarillo Angels is now accepting donations of prom attire for both girls and boys through February 20th! Through the Fairy Godmother Project, youth in foster care can pick out dresses, tuxedos, shoes, and accessories to make their high school prom unforgettable. This special project gives foster youth the chance to experience normalcy and celebrate alongside their peers.

Behind the Action: Making Magic with the Horses of Hollywood” is a bilingual exhibition where visitors can step behind the scenes to learn what it’s like to work with horses and what goes into the magic of seeing horses on screen! Through the stories of wranglers, stunt performers, trainers, and actors, we explore the special bonds between actors and their equine costars; the history of horses in the film and television industry; training; and ensuring safety on set.
In addition to photos and videos, this exhibit features props and costumes from the television show 1883!
The exhibit will be on display from November 12, 2024, through November 15, 2025.

Amarillo, TX – Potter County invites residents to its Community Connections: A Town Hall Experience, a unique and engaging event designed to bring public officials and government services closer to the community. This family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds – Commercial Exhibit Hall.
his year’s Town Hall goes beyond traditional discussions by featuring both informative speakers and interactive opportunities to connect with local government and community services. It’s a one-stop shop to learn more about your county, discover valuable resources, and make your voice heard.

AMARILLO, TX – On Saturday, January 25, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Storybridge will host its 4th Annual Dream & Donate Children’s Book Drive in the parking lot of the United Supermarket at 45th & Bell. “We began this event to honor Dr. MLK Jr. by translating our care for neighbors into action,” says Storybridge Executive Director Chandra Perkins. “Last year, the community donated almost 15,000 books. This year’s goal is 18,000, which would help over 3,000 children choose their own personal book collection.”
Storybridge is asking for new or gently used books for babies through 5th grade. They are also encouraging community members to organize a group of friends, coworkers, or neighbors to collect books as a team. All donated books will be distributed free of charge through Storybridge programs, which include Book Trailer visits, Summer Storytime, Little Free Libraries, Kinderbridge, and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Storybridge’s mission is to ensure every child in Amarillo owns at least 20 high-quality, age-appropriate books by 5th grade, enters kindergarten ready to read, and benefits fully from literacy.
