Basic Qualifications: Any Veteran who served 90 days active duty and is honorably discharged, the spouse or unmarried widow/widower or a gold star parent.
The VA per diem rate subsidizes the cost of care for all qualified Veterans. (Minimum of $120.00 per day) *. That leaves a private pay Veteran responsible for only $35 a day for traditional care and $49 a day for Memory support! If the Veteran has a service-connected disability rating of 70% or higher, the cost of their care, medications and therapy is covered in full. VA per diem is not available for the non-Veteran.
Admissions: Placement can occur with proof of Veteran status if applicant is accepted by the home and appropriate bed is available. Call or e-mail for an application packet. Application packets are also available at our website Amarillo (texas.gov)
